The Four INs (Part 2): INTP/INTJ Slander (by jbradnidom) I still don’t think she has a very good understanding of cognitive functions. She seems to focus more on the letters. She keeps saying how she doesn’t understand why Introverted Intuitves don’t like each other much. She forgets that IN alone doesn’t mean anything, and she seems unaware that even though they all start with the same letter, that INFJ, INTJ, INFP, and INTP are vastly different. In this both videos, she has a habit of calling all IN’s introverted intuitives. WRONG. Just because INTP and INFP have IN in their name doesn’t make them intuitives. Sure their auxillary functions are intuition, but it isn’t introverted intuition. It is extraverted intuition. Therefore the kind of intuition that INFP and INTP has is much different from that of INTJ and INFJ. And because their intuition is auxillary, INFP and INTP probably use it much differently than a dominant intuitive would. She’s perpetuating a misconception that all types with similar letters should do things in similar ways. That is only true for certain types. In this video she focuses on INTJ and INTP. Again she is using too many stereotypes to get her point across, and is defeating the purpose of getting IN types to understand each other. Stereotypes prevent others from reaching understanding because they lead one to believe that they know everything there is to know about another individual, which ultimately hinders people from trying to understand other people. Another issue I have with her video is she bases most of this on how INTJ’s in forums seem to think that INTP’s are unrealistic and INTP’s think INTJ’s aren’t deep. I find that quite ironic since both types mainly deal with the abstract, INTP thorough Ti and INTJ through Ni. She keeps displaying this lack of understanding of the functions, or maybe her oversimplification is leaving room for major error. Another thing I noticed is that she compares the Ti of INTP and Te of INTJ. Like I said before, since Te is an auxillary function, I don’t think that INTJ’s use it the same way that a Te dominant would, so in my opinion they are not comparable unless you are considering how all the functions in a type work together to make that type distinct from another. And she keeps saying that INTJ and other types don’t have certain functions. Contrary to popular belief, we have all the functions, the other 4 may or may not be as developed as your main 4. Again there was too much contradiction, and this didn’t flow well in my opinion. And I really do not think she is an INTJ. Please watch and tell me what you think. 9 notes tagged as: intjway. intj. intp. infj. infp. mbti. posted on May 27, 2012
